Phone Service Repairs Continue; Service Restoration Expected To Begin Saturday
(January 8, 2010) AT & T crews continue to work through the night to restore phone service to the Panther Creek Estates neighborhood. Repair crews say service will be restored to some customers beginning Saturday; however, it could be as late as Tuesday before service is restored to the entire neighborhood bordered by Eldorado, Panther Creek, Hillcrest and Coit.
“The hundreds of copper wires in the cable must be spliced back together one by one, and restoration of service to customers will be incremental, as each pair of wires is repaired. Frisco Fire investigators say the telephone service box was damaged as a result of an overnight grass fire; however, the cause of the grass fire remains under investigation.
Frisco Police continue to step up patrols in the Panther Creek Estates neighborhood to respond to emergencies for those without cell phones.
