Frisco Storytelling Festival
October 12 & 13 – City Hall Plaza, 6101 Frisco Square Blvd., Frisco.
Four of the country’s top storytellers will entertain all ages as they spin yarns at City Hall Plaza. Featured storytellers will captivate their audiences with tales born of cultural diversity, family traditions, personal anecdotes, and the human experience. In addition to the stories, visitors will enjoy puppet shows, folk arts and crafts and other family oriented activities.
This year’s nationally acclaimed storytellers include Bobby Norfolk, David Novak, Doug Lipman, and Beth Horner. Highlights of the two-day event include “Favorite Stories†on Friday night, featuring crowd-pleasing favorite tales. Early Saturday evening brings “Bedtime Stories,†a special concert for the youngest crowd of children ages 5 and up. Then after the autumn sun sets, the grand finale “Laughing Night†is sure to bring tears of laughter to adults and teens alike with rib-tickling, laugh-out-loud tales and tunes. During the day on Saturday, the whole plaza will come alive with free entertainment during Target Day at the Frisco Storytelling Festival. Come to the plaza to enjoy an array of free activities, including storytelling (some from young, local talent), puppet shows, and folk arts and crafts demonstrations. Tents will provide shade for daytime shows and activities. All proceeds from the Storytelling Festival will go to the Frisco Library Foundation.
