Ridgeview at Panther Creek Public Hearing Notice (Updated with details)

ridgeviewThe City informs us about upcoming hearings for properties near our neighborhood.  On Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 6:30 pm in the City Council Chambers, the Planning & Zoning Commission will hear comments regarding the following Public Hearing:

Request: To amend PD-205 regarding lot sizes & development standards.

Location: Located on 117± acres on the southwest corner of Panther Creek Pkwy & Coit Road. Zoned Single Family-3, Single Family-4 and Single Family-5. Neighborhood #8.

The zoning change request may be here: Ridgeview at Panther Creek Zoning Request.

The Developer is asking to reduce the lot sizes in phase 2 & 3 from 10,000 square foot lots to 7,000 square foot lots.  This matches the lot size in the already approved phase 1 of the neighborhood.  Please note that phase 2 & 3 of this project no longer contains the neighborhood pool/amenity center that previous plans had called for.

Cake In A Jar Update

Tuesday, May 24th Maus Middle School is having a Cake in a Jar packing party from 4-5:30 in the cafeteria.  We will bubble wrap and pack the cakes to ship overseas to the troops.  We are planning to have live patriotic music played by our Mausome band.  It will be a lot of fun, so we hope to see the community come out!

Cake in a Jar

I am a 6 yr resident of Panther Creek Estates and a 6th grade teacher at Maus Middle School.   My husband is an active duty Marine in the middle east and our school would like to invite the community to participate in our school wide event called Cake in a Jar.  We are accepting donations of cake mixes, 4 oz. canning jars, bubble wrap, packing tape, and monetary donations for the flat rate shipping.  All donations can be dropped off at the front office at Maus Middle Schoo by May 13th.  Our Skills for Living classes will be baking the cakes and our staff, students, parents, and community volunteers will help cap the jars, label them with messages, bubble wrap them, and pack them for shipping.  We plan to have a tailgate event with local entertainment before delivering the boxes to the post office. Thank you neighbors for your time and consideration, Sarah

TRASH/RECYLING SERVICE RETURNS TO REGULAR SCHEDULE

RESIDENTS ASKED TO BAG ‘OVERFLOW’ TRASH, PLACE OUT ON USUAL SERVICE DAY

(February 6, 2011) Residents who missed trash and recycling service last week due to inclement weather are advised to place overflow items in bags for ‘pick up’ this week on their regularly scheduled service day. Items must be contained in plastic bags, tied and placed three (3) feet away from carts.

“Last week’s extreme weather event made it impossible for contractors to ‘make up’ missed service as we have in the past,” said Pippa Couvillion, Environmental Services Manager. “If you missed service last week, we ask you to place overflow trash in bags for pickup. But please put bags out only on your regularly scheduled day — and not a day earlier.  We want to avoid alleyways being filled with scattered trash as a result of animals digging through bags.  We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience,” added Couvillion.

Residents who have overflow recyclables may bring those to the Environmental Collection Center (ECC), 6616 Walnut Street, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. or Saturdays, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.  The ECC is closed Sundays.

For more information, contact Environmental Services at 972-292-5900.

Reminder Regarding Watering

Remember Your Summer Watering Days and Times

During July, August and September, a two-day-a-week watering schedule becomes mandatory for the summer months.
The watering schedule is based on your residential trash day plus one additional day. Our days in PCE are Friday and Tuesday.

Outdoor watering with a sprinkler system is also not allowed between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. and between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. You may hand water your landscape with a shut-off nozzle, soaker hose and drip/bubbler system at any time, on any day.

Watering during the restricted hours is considered water waste and may result in a water waste violation. Residents are encouraged to report water waste. Contact the Public Works Department by phone (972) 292-5800 or send us your  water waste report.

Go Green for Free

Pick up a free Waterwise sports bottle this week from the City of Frisco Public Works Facility at 11300 Research Road. It costs less than $1 to refill it from
the faucet every day for five years. Did you know it takes 3 gallons of
water to make one plastic water bottle? In 2007, the U.S. used 22 billion
bottles of bottled water - most of which were not recycled.

Have a Waterwise week!
