July 2011 - See update YOM page for photos:
South Side: Guy & Marlene Scalf 11434 La Grange Drive
My wife Marlene & I enjoy our yard because it’s an extension of our home. It also helps that it is next door to our children and grandchildren. We do all of our lawn care because we enjoy being outdoors.
North Side: Will and Bernadette Helton 11557 Jasper Drive
I love our green grass that we finally have after 4 years of weed control and fertilizer, the brick border that my husband built helps keep the grass out of the flower beds, and planting flowers every spring and watching them grow and grow is so fun for me.
It is a true family affair when Will mows the yard, the boys get their small lawnmowers and safety glasses on and are right along with him. They also enjoy the sprinklers and helping me water the flowers and sometimes picking weeds.
Get your yard ready! The Panther Creek Estates Beautification Committee is taking nominations for Yard of the Month! The Beautification Committee chooses two houses each month in warmer weather, with the dividing line being Sem Elementary School. The winners will boast a Yard of the Month sign in their front yard and will be featured in the neighborhood newsletter and on the website, www.panthercreekestates.org. The houses chosen for Yard of the Month should be free of weeds, maintain a nicely manicured lawn, neat flower beds and will exude a lovely curb appeal.
E-mail us your nominations: PCEBeautification@panthercreekestates.org
As part of the City’s response to improving the conditions of Mourning Dove and Bob White parks they will be laying sod in some areas.
At Bob White they will be putting down about 2 acres of new sod, primarily in the southeast quadrant of the park.
For Mourning dove they will be laying part about 1.3 acres in the southwest corner.
The work on these areas will be started in the next couple of weeks.
Preliminary plans for the improvements to the area along Hillcrest north of Hillsboro have been completed. The Beautification committee and the Board are seeking input from residents in regards to these preliminary plans.
We will be holding a meeting at the Kroger on Preston March 10th from 6-7:30. Please stop by anytime during that window if you would like to see the preliminary plans and provide input.
Once we have recieve resident input we will seek approval from the PID Board, finalize the plans and being the process of determining the timing of installation of the new plans.

As you may have noticed we are having some technical difficulty with our beautiful entrance decorations. The board and Real Manage are working diligently with our electrician and the lighting company to resolve the issues and turn on the lights!
Be sure to check out Duffy Lights on Kingsville. For their third year now, Duffy Lights continue to grow bigger and better. Tune your radio dial to 107.3 FM and enjoy the show! Afterwards tune to our very own radio station 1670 AM and drive the rest of Panther Creek Estates to look at Holiday decorations. Merry Merry!
